Eulavene Garrett

Eulavene/Julie (Beason) Garrett, age 83, of Malvern, went to be with the Lord on July 28, 2023, in

Arkansas Hospice at Chi St Vincent, Little Rock, AR. She was born on May 13, 1940, in Social Hill, AR to Dewey and Eula (McDaniel) Beason. Eulavene was a Christian and worshiped at many Bible believing churches/military chapels in various locations around the world. Most recently she and her husband, Mickey, were members and worshiped at Third Baptist Church, Malvern, Arkansas.

Eulavene graduated from Malvern High School in 1957 and received a BSE degree from Henderson State University in 1962. She was a loving wife and mother, homemaker, organizer and worked in real estate, teaching and the airline industry. She made a wonderful home for her husband and two children, in various places. She taught school in Fayetteville, NC, Phenix City, AL full-time and substituted in various other areas, including Germany. In Germany, she also organized the PWOC (Protestant Women of the Chapel), Children's Choir and Vacation Bible School for over 300 children.

She earned her real estate license in Nebraska and sold homes in various locations. She also organized Bible studies in her home in several places. She was a Master Gardener in Hot Spring County and was one of the caregivers for her Mother for several months before her Mother's death. She also worked for Southwest Airlines in Reservations and retired after 10 years in 2005. Julie loved to play the piano and sing praises to the Heavenly Father; and dearly loved the clouds created by Jesus. Julie loved to celebrate Ascension Day: Jesus going back to His Heavenly home. She loves Jesus and wants all people to know Him and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ so she can see them in Heaven.

Julie was so thankful for her parents, her siblings, her husband, and her children that God gave her, but most of all she was so grateful that God let her be born in the United States of America, the greatest nation on God's earth.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Florence (Beason) Lauridsen, two brothers, Garland Dewey Beason and Daniel Franklin Beason.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mickey Garrett, one daughter, Jill (Garrett) Shank, and her husband Judson of Goodyear, AZ, and one son, Mickey Garrett, Jr of Benton, AR, three

Grandchildren, Senior Airman Garrett Shank, serving our country at Anderson AFB, Guam, Hailey Shank of Surprise, AZ and Austin Shank of Goodyear, AZ. One sister, Deweylene Lewis of Fort Smith, AR, and two nephews, Greg Hasley and Chad Hasley both of Fort Smith, AR.

Services will be at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2023, with Dr. Tom Strike officiating. Due to the heat, a brief committal will be at Ouachita Cemetery, in Donaldson. AR.
