Fern E. Shinn Davis

Fern E. Davis, 102, of Bismarck, Arkansas passed away on Sunday August 20, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Fern was born in Bismarck, Arkansas on Friday, October 30, 1920, to her parents Daniel and Emma Shinn.

Fern was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family. She also dearly loved gardening, quilting and fishing. She was also a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.

Fern is survived by her two sons, Ralph (Pamela) Davis of Magnet Cove, AR., Tommy (Chang Suk) of Lonsdale, AR.; daughter, Carolyn (Larry) Ratliff of Bismarck, AR.; thirteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and eight great-great-children; sister, Annette Daniel of Glenwood, AR., two sister in-laws, Arcille Shinn of Arkadelphia, AR. and Bertha Shinn of Malvern, AR.

Mrs. Fern is preceded in death by both her parents; her husband, Elder Isom L.; daughter, Melvia Cansler; brothers, Clifton Shinn, Emuel Shinn; Orville Shinn, Milton Shinn, Kenneth Shinn; sisters, Lorene Ashley, Geraldine Stuart, and Mary Jane Hess.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 25th at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 5107 Antioch Cemetery Road, Donaldson, AR. 71941 with services to follow at 11:00 AM at the church with Brother Doyle Caldwell officiating. Interment to follow at Prairie Bayou Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mark Cansler, Daniel Cansler, Brian Cansler, Jarrod Cansler, Lance Davis, Andy Ratliff, Alex Davison and Herman Davison. Honorary Pallbearers are Russell Hynds, Jerry Matlock, Gretchen Ritchey, Paul Davis.
