Kelly Reese Eakley, 68 of Malvern, passed away August 30, 2019. Kelly was born to the late Harold Eakley and Thelma Baldridge Eakley on July 31, 1951 in Holland, Michigan. Kelly was a volunteer Reserve Deputy for a number of years, becoming a full-time Deputy Sheriff for Hempstead County, working as Bailiff with the court system his favorite line being “All Rise”. In Kelly’s prior years he was a manager in a bedspring manufacturing business and part owner of Hope Wire Products in Hope, AR for a number of years. Kelly was a man of many talents including being a musician in a jazz group known as “The Old Smoothies” and playing in a country-western band. Kelly was born and raised Methodist and currently attended Church of the Nazarene. Kelly was an avid golfer that started at a young age pulling his golf clubs behind his bicycle to play for many years before the sport was popular. Kelly was a blessed traveler who loved to travel the United States and had visited 48 of the 50 states his favorite spot being on the beach. He was also a family man that loved spending his time with his whole family riding side by sides, sitting around the fire pit, and having family gatherings.
Kelly is preceded in death by both parents, Harold and Thelma Eakley; his first wife, Violet Sue Eakley; two sons, Danny Eakley, and William Bo Teets Jr.; a grandson Dawson Buffington and a brother-in-law, Layne Beaty.
Kelly is survived by his wife, Reba Eakley; a son, Robin (Amy) Eakley; three daughters, Tonya (Mike) Collins, Stephanie Teets (Micheal) Prosser, and Amanda Buffington; and his sisters, Patti (David) Hamilton, and Sandy Beaty. He also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Corey, Quinton, Christian, Corbin, Autumn; and Lakyn and a great-grandchild, Wyatt Carter Vaughn.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern with Jerry Crane officiating.
