Marcealia Ratchel (Baxter) Williams

Marcealia “Marcy” Ratchel (Baxter) Williams, 58, of Bryant, AR, passed away at her home on August 27, 2021. She was born September 14, 1962 in Little Rock, AR to Wanda and Jimmy Baxter.

Marcy was preceded in death by her loving parents. She is survived by her daughter Samantha Taylor (Matt) of Havana and son, Terry Flick of Malvern. Marcy was Nana to five beautiful granddaughters who were the loves of her life: Lindsey, Hailey, Tenley, Ravyn and Harper. They were her joy. Four siblings are left to cherish her memory: Donna (George) Bartow of Malvern, Frankie (Bill) Wolfe of Malvern, Daniel Baxter of Hot Springs, and Shannon (Dennis) Finley of Poyen. Marcy is survived by nieces Candice, Courtney, Amber, Cheyenne, Jenna, Caroline, RoseLee; and nephews Hunter and William. Two great-nieces and two great-nephews were also adored by their Aunt Marcy. She is also survived by a host of close cousins whom she loved dearly.

Many people were fortunate to work with and call Marcy a friend. If you were her friend, you knew it because she treated you like family. Her reputation was one for defending those she loved and protecting the downtrodden with fearless determination. That personality made a perfect fit for her chosen career as a Certified Nursing Assistant. She prided herself in the quality of her work and relationships she built with clients until the day she retired. She loved making a difference in people’s lives. However, she would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was becoming a Nana. Marcy’s greatest joys were playing with her grandbabies and sitting at her table putting together puzzles.

Family members will welcome visitors at Poyen Assembly of God Church Fellowship Hall @ 104 S. Ash St., Poyen, AR 72128 on Monday, August 30, from 6 pm-8 pm. Services will be at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 31, at 1 pm for brief visitation followed immediately by the funeral service at 2 pm. Due to COVID-19, social distancing and masking protocols will be followed.
