Patricia M Veazey

Patricia M. Veazey (Smoke) 80, of Magnet Cove, stepped from this life into eternity with her Savior on February 26, 2023. She was born in Magnet Cove, Arkansas on February 3rd, 1943 to Ruben Cline and Ella Jean Smoke.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 53 years Robert (Bob) Leon Veazey of Hot Springs and their infant daughter Denise Anne Veazey; sisters Eva Mae Smoke (Wells), Hazel Etheleen Smoke (Nolen), and brothers Dewell Wade Smoke, Kelley David Smoke, and Wilber Caroll Smoke.

She is survived by her brother Eldon ‘Warren’ Smoke; her sons Anthony A. Simmons and Dennis A. Veazey; daughter Cynthia L. Veazey; granddaughter Jordan E. Simmons; grandson Tyler J. Daniel; and great grandsons Asher and Hazen Ozment all of Magnet Cove.

Patricia was a blessing from God for those that got to call her mom, Aunt Pat, Granny Pat, or “Ganny” as her beloved great grandsons would call her. If you weren’t family though, you would find out real quick that she never met a stranger. She always had conversation at hand to tell you of the amazing things she had growing in the garden; canning vegetables or jams, baking cakes and pie bars for every occasion, making a fresh bouquet of her own flowers for the church service, or the absolute best way to finish a quilt. She had immense talent in her hands, and love in her heart for sharing all of these things with others. If your life crossed paths with her’s, then you most likely didn’t walk away empty handed, or with an empty heart.

Visitation will be held at Atkinson Funeral home in Malvern, Arkansas on Sunday, March 5, 2023 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Services will be held Monday March 6, at 11:00am at Magnet Cove Missionary Baptist Church with graveside service to follow at Magnet Cove Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Tyler Daniel, James Stine, Jaren Stine, Korbie Brashears, Tim Chilcote, and Zach Wacaster. Honorary pall bearers are Damon Dyer, Darrin Dyer, Justin Green, Randy Rodgers, and Brian Billings. Funeral arrangements entrusted with Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern, Arkansas.
