Wayne Hixon

Wayne Hixon, 92, of Donaldson, AR passed away on Thursday, February 23rd, 2023, at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR. He was born Sunday, June 1st, 1930, to Nelson and Edriss Hixon in Donaldson, Arkansas. 

Wayne attended Ouachita Missionary Baptist Church, served in the Korean War while being in the United States Marine Corps. He also enjoyed being outdoors any chance he got. He loved hunting and fishing, but above all else, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Grace Marie Hixon of over 53 years, his parents, his brothers John Howard Hixon and Jimmy Hixon, son Joel Hixon, and grandson Sgt. Eric Strothers.

He is survived by children; Dennis Wayne Hixon (Marianne), and Waynetta Hixon Lloyd (Gary). He had 5 grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as other family and friends.

Visitation will be at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday, February 28th, 2023, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral services will also be held at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, at 11:00 AM. Interment will at Ouachita Cemetery.
