It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Ward, who left us on September 10, 2025, in Little Rock, Arkansas. A cherished member of the community and adored family member, Donna's life was a vibrant testament to strength, generosity, and passion.
Born on October 21, 1945, in Malvern, Arkansas, Donna was a true reflection of her Cherokee heritage—a spirit as free and beautiful as the land from which she hailed. Her determined nature drove her to embrace life fully, making friends wherever she went with her outgoing personality. Those who knew her were often captivated by her zest for life and her infectious laughter.
Donna was a devoted companion to her beloved fur babies, who brought her immense joy and comfort. She possessed an eye for beauty, which was evident in her love for collecting antique glassware, a hobby that also reflected her appreciation for history and craftsmanship. A proud Razorback fan, she could often be found cheering on her team, embodying the spirited pride that comes with being a part of the community. And while her friends and family often gathered around her to share joyous moments, one of her favorite pastimes was curling up and enjoying episodes of Jeopardy, where her sharp wit shone brightly.
Always generous, Donna touched the lives of many with her kindness and support, leaving a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelly and Katie Lowry, her beloved husband Jim Ward, and her brother Phillip Lowry. Her legacy of love and warmth will be carried forward by those she leaves behind, including her devoted brother, Tim Lowry (wife Barbara), and her cherished nieces; Theresa Wilkerson, Shelly Fitzgerald (husband Brantly), and nephew Jeff Lowry (wife Katherine) and longtime friend James Schratz.
A visitation honoring Donna's memory will be held at St John the Baptist's Catholic Church in Malvern, Arkansas, on September 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM till 1:00PM, funeral service following at 1:00 PM, after which she will be interred at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Family and friends are encouraged to come together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose impact will resonate through her cherished memories.
