Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas Reece Langley, of Malvern, who was called home on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the age of 75.

Doug was born in Shreveport, Louisiana to Reece Langley and Faye Bull on October 22, 1950. He was the eldest of four brothers. He attended Ouchitia High School, graduating in 1968. Doug was later drafted into the United States Army, where he faithfully served as a Combat Medic in the Vietnam War, a role that reflected his courage, compassion, and servant’s heart.

A man of strong work ethic, Doug worked at Pirelli Cable, BF Goodrich Aerospace, and retired after 13 years at Hawker-BeechCraft. When he wasn’t on the job-site, he was working on a project at home. There was very little he couldn’t do. Though his name was Doug, those who loved him most knew him as brother, Dad, and Pawpaw: titles he carried with great pride and love.

Doug was a pillar of strength with an unwavering spirit. He loved and cherished his family wholeheartedly and lived a beautiful, blessed life surrounded by a deep love. Known for his immense humor, facetiousness, and lighthearted nature, Doug had a way of bringing joy into every room he entered. He was a natural problem-solver with a rare gift of ingenuity. If something was broken, Doug could fix it. If something needed built, Doug could build it. His hands were never idle, and his mind was always at work. He lived by, and was never afraid to remind you of the 5% rule--"You gotta be at least 5% smarter than what you're workin' with", he'd say.

Doug was preceded in death by his father, Reece Langley; his mother, Faye Bull; and his beautiful wife, Judy Langley, whom he loved passionately, cherished deeply, and adored immensely.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Tammy (Michael) McKeehan; son Chris (Amanda) Langley; grandchildren Dylan (Rebeka) McKeehan, Harleigh McKeehan, and Alex Langley; great-grandchildren Elijah McKeehan and Eliana McKeehan; step mother Shirley (David) Dieckgraeff; brothers Larry (Kathy) Langley, Dave (Martha) Langley, and Ricky Langley; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The family would also like to honor and thank those who lovingly cared for Doug in his final years: Sherrie Hale, Taylor Isaacs, and Roxanne Feeley.

We take comfort in knowing that Doug is now walking with Jesus, completely healed, and reunited with his beloved wife and family members who have gone before him.

Doug’s memorial service will take place on Tuesday, December 16th at 5:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home.
