Ernest Lee Dixson, born on February 21, 1951, in Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Malvern, Arkansas. He was a man of many dimensions— a devoted husband, a nurturing father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and a friend with a unique spark of humor that illuminated the lives of those he loved.
Ernest is survived by his loving spouse for over 55 years, Cleta Dixson. His legacy is carried forward by his children, Kevin and Angela Dixson, and Tammy and Brad Felton. He embraced the roles of father and grandfather with open arms, relishing the joy of family gatherings filled with laughter, love, and playful competition. Ernest's adventures often included camping trips, where he cherished the simplicity of nature and the warmth of family togetherness. Those who experienced these moments will forever remember how he effortlessly transformed a quiet evening around the campfire into a delightful showcase of camaraderie and fun.
He had a quirky sense of humor that was as notorious as it was beloved. Ernest was known for his playful spirit, often picking on and teasing those around him, igniting both chuckles and exasperated smiles. His competitive edge came through in games of Uno and Dominoes, where his frustrations were matched only by his infectious joy, especially when he would become mockingly outraged at losing.
Beyond family life, Ernest poured his passions into the pleasures of fishing, cars, and inching through the captivating worlds of westerns—especially those starring his favorite icon, Clint Eastwood. He had a natural talent for fixing things, demonstrating his ingenuity and practicality as he tackled challenges with a steady hand and a determined spirit.
Ernest's pride lay not only in his interests but also in being a dedicated provider and hard worker. He cherished the roles he embraced throughout his life, always striving to offer his family the stability and love they deserved. His greatest accomplishments stemmed from the relationships he built and nurtured, embracing life as a devoted husband, a guiding father, and a doting grandfather.
Although he has left this earthly realm, he carries on in the hearts of his family—his sisters, Mary Lou and Sadie Bane; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Angela; his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Brad; his grandson, Isaac Felton; and his great grandsons, Wyatt Felton and Warren Felton. These bonds radiant with love are a testament to the man Ernest was and the impact he made on their lives.
In remembrance of Ernest, we celebrate a life enriched with affection, humor, and undying commitment to family. His memory will forever be a source of warmth and inspiration for all who had the privilege to know him.
