Gary Adrian Smith, born on January 31, 1961, in Malvern, Arkansas, passed away on August 6, 2025, while residing in York, Pennsylvania. He was a dedicated engineer whose career spanned several notable companies, including Burlington Industries, RR Donnelley, and St. Onge Company. Gary's commitment to his profession was matched only by his enthusiasm for learning and his pursuit of education. He graduated from Magnet Cove High School in 1979 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Louisiana Tech, followed by a Master’s Degree from Purdue University.

Gary is survived by his beloved mother, Nina Spencer Smith, as well as his two brothers, Cecil Smith and Richard Smith. He will also be remembered fondly by his loyal service dog, Christmas. His family takes comfort in the love and memories they shared with Gary throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his father, Silas F. Smith, and his grandparents, Silas E. Smith, Lottie Burris Smith, William Theodore Spencer, and May Harrill Spencer.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Gary's caregivers, Marsha Conners and Julie Kibbie, along with 4 Paws 4 A Cause, for their unwavering support and care during his time of need. Gary's memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or 4 Paws 4 A Cause in York, Pennsylvania.

Funeral arrangements entrusted with Atkinson Funeral Home of Malvern, Arkansas. A graveside service at Rockport Memorial Gardens honoring the life of Gary Adrian Smith will be held Friday, August 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Online condolences can be made at www.atkinsonfuneralhome.net .
