Jimmy Don Deere of Bismarck, Arkansas passed away October 8th 2026 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on December 20, 1941, in Willow, Arkansas, to Doyne and Lota Mae Deere. He was born and raised in Willow, Arkansas and graduated from Cartridge High School. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1959-1962, spending over a year of his service in South Korea assigned to the legendary 1st Calvary Division as an auto mechanic during the Cold War earning his sharpshooter and marksman badges. After returning home, he began his career with AP&L/Entergy, as a transmission lineman. He dedicated 35 years to the company before retiring. He took great pride in his work and in the work family he became a part of. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doyne Deere and A.G. and Lota Mae Morris, and his brother, Tom Deere. He leaves behind his daughter, Dawn (Todd Davis; three grandchildren, Brady (Madison) Gray, Gracie Davis, and Tristen (Tristan) Davis; brother, Alan Jordan and two great-grandsons. His family will remember him for the example he set that life doesn't have to be difficult-just work hard, take care of your family, and help people when you can. Though he may have been a man of few words, he leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that will never be forgotten. Honorary Pallbearers are Ken Garner, Carl Neal, LD Hunting Club, Kristen Woods, APN, Keelee King, CNA. A special thank you to Hospice Home Care and The Blossoms at the Village. Graveside Services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026 beginning at 1:00 pm at Old Cypress Church and Cemetery in Willow, Arkansas.
