Laurie Cansler Holliman, a beacon of compassion and joy, left this world on May 16, 2026 to join her Heavenly Father. Born on March 9, 1972, Laurie’s life was a testament to love, care, and an unyielding spirit that brightened every room she entered.
Laurie dedicated her career as a wonderful Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), serving with unwavering professionalism and heartfelt care in hospice, nursing homes, and home health settings. Her patients felt not just her skill but the depth of her kindness and the comfort of her presence. Those who knew her understood that her work was more than a job—it was a calling, an extension of her very soul. Laurie was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church.
Her personality was unforgettable—a happy, contagious laugh that could lift spirits instantly, a loving and caring heart that gave without measure. Laurie was unselfish to a remarkable degree, a straight shooter unafraid to speak her mind with honesty and without filter. She embraced life fully, lived with authenticity, and loved fiercely.
Laurie’s passions were vivid and wide-ranging. She loved singing in church, her voice a reflection of her joyful spirit. She was drawn to the energy of concerts and the thrill of ball games, always cheering enthusiastically as she watched her children and nephews play. Cooking was another joy, a way to nurture those she loved. Yet, above all, her greatest treasure was time spent with family and friends. Her dogs, whom she affectionately called her babies, brought her immense happiness and companionship.
She leaves behind a loving family who carry her spirit forward. Her husband, Michael Holliman, stands by her side through grief and remembrance. Her children, Derek Holliman and Dylan Holliman, inherit her strength and warm heart. Laurie’s siblings—Angie Parish (Gary), Cindy Green (Travis), Matt Davis, Frank Davis, and Deedee Shaw—cherish the bond only family can provide. Her granddaughter, Kylee Holliman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, a stepfather Paul Davis, and a host of other family and friends, hold Laurie’s memory close to their hearts.
Laurie’s journey was also marked by the loss of beloved family members who preceded her: her parents, Kenneth and Alice Cansler, and her brother Tim Cansler, known affectionately as Buzz. Their memories intertwine with Laurie’s own, creating a tapestry of love that spans generations.
A visitation to celebrate Laurie’s life will be held on May 21, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at New Beginnings Baptist Church, located at 3603 Oliver Lancaster Boulevard in Malvern, AR 72104 with Pastor Kevin Spurlin. The funeral service will follow immediately afterward, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m., giving all who loved Laurie a chance to honor and remember her remarkable presence.
Pallbearers: Caleb Parish, Brasin Green, Jarrod Cansler, Danny Duque, Larry Jo Ripper, Jordan Duque, Daniel Cansler.
