Lois Roberta VanDusen, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on October 13, 1933. Bobbie led a life of purpose and dedication through a diverse and accomplished career. She served with honor as a Staff Sergeant in the Army National Guard, held a significant role with the Internal Revenue Service, followed by several years as an Administrative Security Clearing Assistant and concluded her professional journey as a respected Medical Practice Manager. Her intelligence, diligence, and strong work ethic were evident in every role she took on.
A woman of deep and abiding faith, Bobbie found joy and strength in praise and worship. Her spiritual life was a cornerstone of her identity, and her love for God carried her through many life challenges. In her later years, Bobbie found comfort and community at Presbyterian Village in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she enjoyed many wonderful moments and was treated with great dignity and care. The friendships and spiritual support she found there were a blessing.
Bobbie was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Elizabeth "Betty" VanDusen; her cherished daughter, Carla Belinda "Butch" Thomasson (Robert); her brother, Michael "Mickey" O’Quinn (Wanda); and her sister, Margaret "Peggy" Hampton (Howard).
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Bette Burton of Maumelle, Arkansas, and Lea Obermeyer of Rio Dulce, Guatemala; grandchildren: Rachel Scherer of Huntsville, TX, Melanie Dawson (Alex) of Maumelle, AR, Brandy Buckmaster (Chad) of Checotah, OK, Christina Evans Hirsch of Montgomery, TX, Nathan Obermeyer of San Diego, CA, and Kara Thomasson of Little Rock, AR; and great-grandchildren: Zachary Hirsch of Houston, TX, Rebecca Baxter, Huntsville, TX, Jessica Evans (Michael), Huntsville, TX, Jaycee Turner (Nash) of Sand Springs, OK, Banks Dawson of Maumelle AR and Harper Dawson of Maumelle, AR.
A service to celebrate Bobbie’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malvern, AR
In lieu of flowers and in appreciation of the special place it held in her heart, donations may be made in her memory to Presbyterian Village, 510 Brookside Dr, Little Rock, Arkansas 72205
