Richard Coston, a beloved member of the Malvern community, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 69, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Born on January 23, 1956, Richard was a lifelong resident of the area, where he was known for his sweet, giving, and compassionate nature. He was admired not only for his problem-solving skills but also for his genuine dedication to helping others.
Richard proudly served his country in the Navy for four years, an experience that shaped his character and instilled in him a strong sense of duty and service. This commitment carried through to his personal life, as he was deeply devoted to his family and friends, embodying the qualities of a true supporter and fixer of all things.
He was passionate about the great outdoors, finding joy in fishing, hunting, and various outdoor activities. His enthusiasm for life extended to his love for sports, particularly for the Razorbacks, which reflected his spirited connection to his home state. Richard especially cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, embodying the values of togetherness and support that he instilled in his children.
Richard leaves behind a loving family, including the love of his life for 43 years, Neta Coston, and their children who he wholeheartedly adored, Alexandria Lynch (Kyle) and Faith Nabors (James), as well as his beloved grandchildren, Savannah and Abigail Nabors, Beckett and Baylor Kate Lynch. He is also survived by his siblings, Pam Parent (Grover), June Bledsoe, his “brothers” and his best friends of many years Dale Merryman and Chris Walton. Richard's legacy endures through the many lives he touched and the countless memories created with those he loved.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Elwood Coston and Faith Marie Reeves, as well as his stepfather, Ralph Reeves, and his sister, Lisa Jenkins.
Visitation will be held at Atkinson Funeral Home Inc in Malvern, Arkansas, on November 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place the same day at Oak Ridge Cemetery, with services concluding by 1:30 PM.
Richard Coston will be remembered for his warm spirit, unwavering kindness, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His family and friends carry forward his legacy of love and compassion in their hearts.
