Wayne Edward Gray, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully in his hometown of Malvern, Arkansas, on September 20, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on August 19, 1960, Wayne was a spark of joy and comfort to everyone who was fortunate enough to know him.
Wayne dedicated almost twenty years of his life to working for Baptist Health Medical Center, where he became known for his happy demeanor, compassion, and unwavering kindness. His laid-back personality combined with a unique sense of humor endeared him to coworkers and patients alike. Though he could be comical during lighthearted moments, Wayne also knew how to be serious when the situation called for it, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear.
Wayne was not just defined by his work; he had a profound love for life outside of the hospital walls. He was an avid sports enthusiast, eagerly anticipating the football and basketball seasons each year. His love for sports was equaled only by his passion for being outdoors. Fishing and hunting brought him great joy, and he cherished every moment spent in nature. Above all, Wayne relished the time he spent with loved ones, creating unforgettable memories with family, friends, and coworkers.
Left to remember Wayne’s vibrant spirit are his father, Joe E. Gray and stepmother Fracile Gray, his sisters, Shelia A. Patton and Tanya G. Gray, and his brother, Kirk E. Gray. Each of them holds dear memories and the warmth of Wayne's spirit and the laughter he brought into their lives.
Wayne's mother, Mary E. Gray, predeceased him, but her love and teachings live on through the family she cherished. As they come together to celebrate his life, they reflect on the countless ways Wayne touched the hearts of those around him.
Wayne Edward Gray will be deeply missed, but his legacy of kindness, humor, and love will remain forever ingrained in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him.
